Our Dallas, GA classrooms are clean, comfortable and feature interactive “smart board” displays to enhance the learning experience for our students. Our experienced instructors prepare students for the realities and responsibilities of driving on Georgia’s roadways with a program that is impactful, insightful, and informative. The in-classroom education prepares students for the behind the wheel training portion of their course by providing the knowledge that in-car instructors will depend on during their instruction. This includes the language and terms that knowledgeable drivers need, such as lane positions, types of intersections, rules about Right of Way, signs, and types of turns. West Metro Driving School’s course makes an even greater impact by highlighting the effects of poor driving decisions and reckless driving on the road, showing the legal, community, social and employment effects of unsafe driving on the driver and others.
Behind the wheel training is performed one-on-one with a licensed instructor in a school vehicle equipped with a secondary brake and extra safety features unique to our school vehicles. In the Dallas and West Cobb area, instruction takes place on local roads, highways and interstates such as Highway 120 (Dallas Highway), Highway 61, Highway 278 (Charles Hardy Parkway), US-41, Barrett Parkway, with interstate training taking place on either I-20 or I-75 depending on the student’s location. During two hour sessions, students complete a graduated training program that begins with parking lot and local road training, followed by local roads and highways, then interstate driving, Accident Prevent Training, and Driver’s Test Preparation. After each driving session, instructors complete a report card that keeps a record of student progress as well as a useful guide for parents or others assisting a new driver in their training at home.
West Metro Driving School in Dallas, GA offers the official Drivers Test for new Drivers as a Third Party Test provider. Students utilize our vehicle for the test, the test is completed on our course, and one of our licensed instructors administers the test. When a student passes their in-car drivers test with our school, they receive a certificate that they can bring to any Georgia Department of Drivers Services (DDS) location to fulfill the test requirement for their initial drivers license. The testing option at our school offers a more comfortable, personalized experience, allowing students to complete the test in the same type of vehicle we do our training in, and we offer the test on days that GA DDS may not, such as weekends and some holidays.
At our Dallas, GA location the 6 hour defensive driving class is held weekly, with both in-person and remote tele-classroom availability. The defensive driving course can be used by Georgia drivers or employers for a number of different official purposes, such as Insurance Reduction, Court, License Reinstatement, Court Ticket Reduction, or DDS Points Reduction.
